This lophophora specie is well-know for bring the smallest one from all the genus. It comes from northern San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
It was named in honor of two persons, the late prominent Czech traveler and cactus-hunter Alberto Vojtěch Frič and the current Lophophora enthusiast Vojtěch Myšák.
